The Rotary Club of Center, Texas was established in 1925 and is one of the oldest active civic club in Center. The Club currently has 41 members and meets each Tuesday at 12 noon at the Windham Civic Center. Meetings may be cancelled by Board approval for holiday and other conflicts. The Rotary year is from July 1st to June 30th.

Rotary International is divided into Districts and the Rotary Club of Center is in District 5910. The District officers assist local Rotary Clubs with technical support and financial support through District Grants.

Membership in Rotary is based on a person's profession or occupation. The purpose of this approach to membership is to provide a network of various professions to improve communication and cooperation within the community.

Dues for the Rotary Club of Center are $720 per year and are payable by $180 per quarter. Dues cover the costs of meals, Rotary International dues, District dues, the Rotarian Magazine, and club operating expenses.

The success of the Rotary Club of Center is dependent on the involvement and actions of its members. In order for a member to be actively involved, regular attendance at club meetings is important. The club has an attendance requirement of members being in attendance at least 12 meetings per year. Members missing six (6) consecutive meetings without acceptable cause is subject to dismissal from the club. There are several ways to become involved in the club as a new member:

Club committees include: Membership, Publicity, Foundation, Projects, and Programs

Local administration of the club is through the Board of Directors which is comprised of club officers and standing committee chairs. The board is responsible for managing the club operations and for making recommendations to the club on matters needing club approval.

The club supports local organizations and events such as Shelby County Outreach, Youth Sports, and other local needs. The club sponsors four high school juniors to participate in the Rotary Youth Leadership Award program by paying their expenses to the annual RYLA conference held in January.

The club has also raised over $1 million for the Roughrider Scholarship Foundation as well as providing scholarships for children of club members.
